We had a really great time at Quays Pub. We were greeted by Kaz who was so welcoming and joyful. We were there for a family members birthday and had a cake, she offered to lights it with candles and even come out and sing happy birthday as a surprise. She was such a lovely host!
I haven't visited the Quays for many, many years - I was pleasantly surprised. The menu had a good choice, I chose the chicken dinner on the mix and match system; 2 good size chicken breasts cooked to perfection, pilau rice, a lovely fresh salad, and a pot of sour cream. It was all delicious. We were a group of nine, and the serving staff were good humoured.
I didn't know about the parking system, luckily one of our group mentioned it while we were eating. As you enter the Quays, for free parking, put your car details on the screen situated at the bar. Very Americanised!
Lovely setting next to billing marina. Welcoming staff, nice to have a large open bar area with pool table however very slow service for food. Took ages for food to come and when it did it was only luke warm. The carvery was not manned and had no bell so had to find a staff member in order to get served, the meat was really dry as had no covers on them so had to ask for the end of the meat to be taken off then it was really tasty. Lovely selection of vegetables and all very fresh. Very good value for money!
