Would have given it 5 stars, but issues with the ground, cannot be overlooked.
Hampshire's main ground is the Ageos Bowl situated in West End , near Southampton
The ground is easily accessible from Newport via Vectis Buses (2 & 3) or about a half hour walk via Newport to Sandown trail, the old railway line,
Facilities are what you would expect from a ground in a rural location, The cricket ground had only one scoreboard operating, problems initially with public address system , there was a charity auction on the day, but like a lot of rural venues, had no access to wi-fi, this meant cash only
The ground though is in such a beautiful area , so the problems shouldn't detract anybody from taking in a fixture, if chosen by Hampshire next year, of course if you wish to walk from Newport to Sandown at any other time, it is approximately 8 miles long, along the old railway.
For those interested there are various videos about the railways of the Isle of Wight
Fantastic cricket ground. Went to watch Hampshire. Organised brilliantly so access in and out was easy. Enough seats for everyone, and plenty of food and drink stands.
Absolutely superb. My little brothers wedding reception was here and the venue, service and friendliness of the staff were excellent. Very highly recommended.
