Visited on a Wednesday evening and the service was attentive and friendly. Atmosphere was very pleasant in a very nice setting just off the Tyne Bridge. There is plenty of parking close by, walking distance to Gateshead Metro Station. Walking distance to other good bars such as mircrobus and central for a drink before or after.
Food wise, thick curry’s packed with flavour. Food is piping hot and glass window allows a peak into kitchen to see chefs preparing food.
Manager added personal touch during visit which was nice whilst taking parents out.
A great brasserie and bar, close to the Glasshouse International Centre for Music (better known by its previous name, Sage Gateshead), and the Hilton Gateshead.
Food is good, as is the service.
In terms of atmosphere, the brasserie would benefit from a more Indian vibe. The current interior style, along with the background music, suggests more of an English eatery that serves Indian food.
We went as a family for my birthday. Food was fabulous, great portion size too. We had lots of the small plates as wanted to share and try lots of different things. I had the lobster and mango, gorgeous. The scallops were on a lovely puree base. They were cooked to perfection. Massive battered prawns, also three fish fillets that were so tender they just fell to bits in your mouth. There were 3 flattish sort of onion barjis as a starter, even the rice was lovely. One of the party had the £15.95 special which is served early evening and really enjoyed it. Even the dips are made in house, eaten with poppadoms they were all different, and my favorite was the sweet chilli pineapple. Also I don't like a lot of chilli so they toned it down in my food so it was there to taste but delicate.
Not cheap but excellent quality and we will be back. Even the wine wasn't too bad a price. ☺️ Staff and manager very helpful and friendly, great for advice.
I think they also do takeout and a couple of delivery drivers called in to collect while we were eating.
