For classic UK Fish and Chips, the Dancing Octopus is a safe bet if decent quality is your agenda. A true grease party if ever there was one, the chips are thick, fat and excellent, with good quality potatoes at the heart.
Gravy is thick and tasty, mushy peas fine but a bit watery and the cod is nice, but lacking in seasoning. Service, in spite of a steady queue, was quick, although having Haddock would have added another 10 minutes waiting time, so we stuck with Cod.
Outside of Wales or Scallywags, one of the better places I've been, although as Fish and Chips makes you feel so in need of a green tea after, the rating is reduced as my reviews take into effect the healthy 'feel good' factor after eating.
Touted as the best fish and chips in Newcastle under Lyme but I can only say it’s not the best I have tried in the United Kingdom. Was too hungry to take pictures of the actual order but now my curiosity is out of the way (been wanting to try this place for so long but they do not appear on any of the food ordering platforms), I’ll be trying other places to compare who’s best in the neighborhood. The staff were very friendly and nice and offered the kids some sweets while we waited in the sweltering summer heat. Be sure to have cash as they do not accept cards
Allow me to take my E scooter inside so nobody steals it. And leave next to the door. The staff are amazingly friendly, the food is brilliant quality, and reasonably priced, large sausage chips peas gravy and a small portion of chips (might I add easy enough for 3 people) £8
My mum also calls in here for chips on her way passed whenever she visits me from belfast. She loves it
