What a cool place. I thought I had arrived at someone's home. Walking inside there are tables in what would be the living room with a small but seemingly well equipped bar with a great selection of ales and ciders. The garden is lovely but alas, no children's playing equipment. It was a tranquil garden with lots of flowers in blossom and an apple tree (June 23) It is a lovely quiet location, a few minutes from Nailsea. You can hear the noise of farm animals and the garden is a bit of a suntrap. I can certainly see myself going to this little gem of a public house again. But perhaps without the children next time.
I could see there were what appeared to be home made or authentic style pies, pasties and sausage rolls for sale at the bar. But I didn't inquire about a meal menu. During my visit I didn't see anyone else having a meal, so I can only assume there is no meal option.
But what a lovely place
I love this traditional British pub, just visited from the campsite opposite.
A very warm welcome from the lady behind the bar.
Lovely selection of ciders and beers.
I wished I lived opposite
The best real 'spit & sawdust' pub in North Somerset, period! Excellent gravity beers and ciders with clever tasty grub! A charming blast from the past not to be missed if you're in the area!
