Nice old traditional pub. Only had drinks so can’t comment on the food. Although it was a sunny day, we sat inside because of the characterful decor. Expect it would be lovely in winter as there’s a large fire place.
Great Ploughman's and a stunning Steak & Ale pie, you didn't need to hunt for the Meat!!
Service was great as was the Black Dragon!!
See you soon.
What an amazing find after a windy day in south Wales. We hadn't booked but the staff were happy for us to share a large table with a couple. The atmosphere was fantastic on a Saturday lunch time - made even better by the roaring fire that was constantly stoked. My Mum and I ordered the king scallops and blackpudding special, and my Dad ordered the beef and ale pie. The scallops were just amazing, and Dad's pie was chock full of meat! Dad had a couple of pints (HPA and then a local golden ale), he said they were good pints, well kept.
I/we will definitely be back to visit the Plough and Harrow, hopefully staying for more than lunch next time.
