Ok. A few weeks ago, I wrote a review that was very honest, but not complementary to Anatolia. The review was valid and remains at the bottom of this revised review, in case anyone wants the full story!
Anyway, Anatolia got in contact with me, as they genuinely were concerned with customer comments and feedback. They asked me for more details and discussed our feelings and opinions. They have subsequently made some amends to quantities and other elements that we had felt less than satisfied about, and invited us back to experience their wares once again.
In short, I am so impressed with their attitude towards customer feedback and customer service - they could have just lost our clientele for ever, but instead they have turned us into passionate evangelists for their business! When we revisited last Friday, the food was great, their welcome was warm and the service was awesome, despite it being really busy. They are destined to do well - and it’s very well deserved. We will now be returning on many occasions.
My original post/review: (2 Stars)
“So disappointed in Anatolia. We had a less than mediocre meal there on Saturday.
My wife had the seafood mixed grill which consisted of the smallest skewer of about 8 seafood pieces - a tiny portion of food for £15+. I had Lamb (and lots of it) but the meat was extremely gristly, and in a very sickly sauce. I didn’t like it at all.
The mushroom starter was nice though.
The desert portions are tiny too, way too small compared to any other restaurant we’ve been to recently. Especially the baclava, where we got 3 tiny pieces.
Disappointed is an understatement, as we genuinely want to like this restaurant. The people serving there are lovely.
Unfortunately I have to say Antep in Wolverton, although far more restricted in its menu options, has far better and more consistent portion sizes and the food quality is higher too. A real shame. I only wish we had the same satisfaction as most other reviews on here, as we really felt it was a waste of our money.”
Turned up without a reservation last night in the snow as it was my birthday and we were determined to not let the weather scupper all of our plans. The staff were amazing and found us a table straight away, although they were quite busy already.
We had the sharing platter to start but didn't want the seafood items, the waiter was really helfpul and more than happy to substitute the seafood for other options.
Food is absolutely gorgeous and such a nice atmosphere in the restaurant.
We would particularly recommend the chicken skewers and the lamb shank
We grabbed a take away from here tonight and it was delicious! The restaurant was totally rammed when we went to collect but our food was ready in 30 mins as promised, ready and waiting for us. Thanks! I had the lamb, croutons, yoghurt dish and would recommend
