Great food, friendly staff.
Really well presented dishes, good soul food without any meat alternatives which is great to see where a lot of vegan and non vegan restaurants lean into the ease of alternative products. Everything appears and tastes home made.
I had the burger and nachos. Would have loved space for a dessert but the portions are very generous. I was surprised that the side salad the burger came with was as satisfying as it was - I'm a 100kg gym going 6'1 fella so saying a salad was tasty and satisfying goes miles toward explaining how good this place is!
I also had the milkshake which was lovely
Would definitely return if I find myself in Middlesbrough again.
Incredibly good food. Having just moved the area I am trying out loads of different options and AK is certainly top of the list in terms of taste and value for money. The portions are filling and I honestly feel great after my visits. Proper soul food.
Caveat, I eat a meat heavy diet, so for anyone who is put off by the Vegan label don't be. Just pop in, order the BBQ tacos or Thai wrap, close your eyes and take a bite, you'll be a regular in no time.
Oh and try the cookies, possibly the best I've tasted.
Alkaline Kitchen is a cute and quiet cafe, their main focus is having healthy vegan options so everything is naturally sourced and hand made.
I tried the Alkaline Burger which is the best bean burger I have ever had and probably the only bean burger I've ever enjoyed.
The atmosphere is chilled and cosy, the staff are incredibly friendly and polite, the prices are reasonable and of course the food is delicious.
There is paid parking just around the corner.
