Fab old skool pub, and Freehouse to boot which if we don't continue to support will soon be a thing of the past!
Proper pub ambience. Deep red chair coverings, horse brasses...previous guest ale shields etc.
Pub menu. We both had pie (chicken for me steak for him) and the chef wasn't messing. Proper chunks of meat and these were slices from a big pie tray....not faffing about with individual pies that are all all pastry and no filling. Son had scampi. Menu looked good and covered most eventualities. Puds were fab too.
Only thing was, the night we came the pub was dead, there was some sort of local festival on and everyone had gone. The couple, whom I presume to be the landlord and landlady were very welcoming but I could feel their stress. It's a bloody hard business to run nowadays.
So...get down there. Drink their booze, eat their food and keep em going!!!!
Tucked Away in Martock friendly staff lovely food car park at back!
Kind and considerate staff in a lovely local pub.
They were so accommodating considering we were running late on a day of travel. They had everything ready for us and our baby upon arrival.
Food was very nice and came out in good time. Cash preferred but they do accept card transactions.
