Manchester's original street food collective. I only found this place after enjoying the bigger budget younger version Food Fight so when Guerrilla Eats was recommended I popped down at my first opportunity. It runs weekly on Saturdays 5pm till midnight with a collection of different street vendors, fully stocked bar and DJ playing through the night. We had a great time, it is a lot less busy than the food fight making it more enjoyable to have a drink, get some grub and have a seat.
Guerrilla's USP over their competition is that they charge less money to the vendors and so do not have the more corporate restaurant sponsored vendors and instead a more authentic street food experience. Whilst the budget is lower the quality of food was just as good so I think they have hit the mark with this one.
I knocked a star off as one of the vendors had sold out of stock and was closing when we arrived which was before 9.
Discovered Guerrilla Eats last year when they were running it as an occasional event. Was excited when I heard they were opening it up on a weekly basis in Ancoats, been a bunch of times as its literally in a building next to where I live - so really convenient to nip out for something nice to eat on a Saturday, really good place to bring friends and socialise begin a few drinks before a night out.
Cool atmosphere, always seem to have new things to try - plenty of selection and decent drinks. Its a bit smokey, doesnt bother me but might put some people off I guess.. maybe some extraction could be added.
Pretty cool transformation to what was a concrete shell - lots of places to sit - hope they keep on running it there!
