Fantastic Evening - Look forward to returning
We had a great evening here watching the champions league semi final. I wouldn't normally write reviews for pubs, but I was impressed by the selection of ales and lagers, the number and quality of TV screens, the pie and mash, but most of all the service - basically one guy. Despite the pub being busy (perhaps 100 at its busiest), he controlled the entire evening and was excellent, acting as waiter with the food, lining up drinks orders, remembering peoples' previous drinks orders - and all within his stride. The final score was great, but the pub also helped us have a great evening. I hadn't been in this pub for about 15 years, but will definitely be back soon.
i have visited the city road for quite a few years now but since the apartrooms have been completed this little venue supplies great food great hospitality and fantastic accommadation and WoW the price totally a shock form the homecooked food and the fantastic rooms free wifi absolutely georgeous ensuited rooms this place is a little gem.if your considering staying in manchester for any reason for a night a weekend or longer you could do a hell of a lot worse than stay at the City Rdthis place offer everything at high standards and out of this world quality and most of all at a Totally Unbelieveable Price
As an American I had my first ever English pub football watching experience here. I also had my first meat pie. The gravy was delicious and it was a good time.
Honestly, words can't really describe my encounter with the city road inn. Came up from London and just fancied a lovely pint in a normal pub with good people and good atmosphere. I got that in abundance but the best part of it was my pie and mash. To die for! The mothership was unbelievable! Pie, mash, minted mushy peas, gravy, crispy shallots and cheddar... made my whole night was unbelievable. Definitely go to this boozer if you're in the town. Lovely lovely lovely!

Very underrated boozer, lovely staff.
The service was second to none. It was a bit quiet when we went but we got table service for drinks and the staff were super friendly and a good laugh. We spent a few hours here on a Saturday lunch day drinking session and we'll come again.
Soon as we walked in the door we were met with the warmest of welcomes! Great drinks & food!
