Good, but a little expensive for what you get. I visted the Vine Tree for the first time this summer. The atmosphere is good, as is the food. I have no complaints other than it is just a little expensive for what it is: a pub restaurant. I would say it is at the top end of pub restaurants in the area, but you can eat almost as well, and a bit less expensively in Malmesbury or Brinkley.
Unbelievably good value. Delicious meal, interesting menu, cosy pub atmosphere and attentive staff. We had blackened trout and cheese soufflé for starters and then monkfish curry and wags burger for mains. We were too full for puds. All was excellent!
Excellent service, delicious beers, lovely outdoors seating area perfect for a sunny day.
I only had a couple of starters as a meal, and they were spectacular.
An air of goats cheese with beetroot and pesto dressing, and some squid rings in panko. 😍
Plenty of parking.
Inside is small but cozy, with fireplace and tv screen (licals were watching horse racing when I visited). Decoration is a bit dated but lovely as it is really aithentic. There is a stunning handcrafted glass and iron "vine tree" sculpture made during the pandemic, displayed in pride of place, on the bar
Service was great.
All ales and lagers are of quality, and delicious.
They were testing a music band for the next day, so keep an eye, as I am sure there is live music there, too, from time to time.
Totally recommended.
