Great Cambodian food (similar to Thai), good sized portions, good value for money.
Takeaway is a big part of their business so it can be busy 6 -> 7.30
With cask ale from the pub a perfect night out.
Friendly landlord who served a nice pint of Inch's cider, however, we went in there to eat Thursday evening to find food was only served on Friday and Saturday. Cambodian menu looked fantastic and we will try to get back there again.
I sometimes try new places and am disappointed. This time I was delighted.
I was tempted in by the mention of scallops on a black pudding mashed potato on the boards outside.
Inside I asked what dark ales they had and took a Theakstons Old Peculiar. Excellent.
As a starter I took the goats cheese in panko, which came with a surprising pickled onion garnish. This too was excellent.
Then the scallops, and yes, they were excellent.
The staff and owners worked very hard to accommodate the needs of the next table, it seemed like literally nothing was too much trouble. As they made great efforts to please, I enjoyed a baked New York Cheesecake. Yum.
The new owners here are working incredibly hard to make this a truly exceptional place to eat and drink. Don't delay, get here and enjoy it while you can. It's amazing!
