Hubby had an amazing home made venison pie, and fabulous chunky chips. I had a very moreish Queenie Scallop cheesy dish accompanied by lovely crispy yummy fries & salad with a rather tasty zingy dressing. I finished off with rhubarb tart, sorbet and clotted cream. It was all delicious, wholesome, rustic food - properly cheffed and very flavoursome. Lovely people too. Wish it were closer to home.
Went here today for a light lunch and drink. We had the kids fish and chips which was just perfect, very fresh and the batter was just right. Wheelchair accessible, dog and child friendly. Selection of drinks looked good. Place was clean. Beer garden to the back. Staff friendly. Parking wasnt a problem at the time we went Friday 2pm but may struggle in busier times. Would like to come back and try something else from their main menu.
Stumbled across this pub after a visit to the nearby Treacle Markets and we will be definitely going again. Despite being a busy Sunday lunchtime and lack of reservation the staff were pleasant and managed to find us a table by the log fire. The roast lamb was cooked to perfection with accompanying sides to compliment including a fantastic homemade mint sauce. Overall one of the finest Sunday lunches I've eaten!
