The portions were huge; fish and chips were amazing – perfectly cooked, and such good value. It’s fair to say that I ate far too much but it was way too tasty to leave any.
And if fish and chips isn’t your thing, there are lots more offerings: from 100% Aberdeen Angus beef burgers and (proper Lancashire) meat pies to pizzas and jacket potatoes.
Mum and I both had a glass of h
Called in here and awarded 4 stars because it was freshly cooked, piping hot, the staff were friendly and efficient, and I'm sure most people will love it.
Everyone likes different things, so some will find it great. For my own taste, I had a couple of reservations, but it's a personal thing. The first thing was the thickness of the chips. They certainly were not the thin fries that sometimes get called chips, and they were a regular size some people will like. Personally, I prefer more 'chunky' sized chips, not least because you get more chips and fewer scraps. The second thing were the peas. There was nothing wrong with the peas themselves, but they were served in a separate dish as seems to have become the 'norm' during the last ten years or so. Personally, if I'm having peas, I like them on my plate. If they come in a separate dish, the first thing I do is tip them out onto my plate. I saw a TV chef recently say peas and beans are served in separate dishes these days so customers can dip their chips or bread into them. Personally, I've never had any problem dipping chips into them when they are on the plate.
Like I said, it's a personal taste. Many will love things just the way they were served.
Simply outstanding food, so good that we returned to see if it was as good a 2nd time. The answer was a resounding yes, all the staff were most helpful & answered any queries. The prices are very good too, we will be visting again when we return the Lytham St Annes again. We had the XL Meal which was Fish, Chips, Peas, Bread & butter with a pot of tea.
My Mrs loved her desert too
