My mother in law brought me and my two small girls here for afternoon tea. Cannot recommend highly enough - the staff were amazing, the place is beautiful and the food was delicious. It is dog friendly and there's even a toy box to keep little ones entertained. So glad we live locally as this place is an absolute gem!

My fiancé and I stayed at Lydford house over the bank holiday and I have to say the hotel was and is one of the best I have stayed in for a while now. You drive into a beautiful setting and a beautiful presented exterior. This is followed by by a warm well presented welcome by the staff. The hotel is well kept, clean and has a beautiful interior. The room was absolutely amazing and clean. Plenty of room for the two of us and was totally comfortable and warm. Our first encounter with the dining room was dinner Saturday night. The staff were attentive and polite along with a good and tasty meal, which was worth every single penny. Sunday morning was the next and breakfast. There was plenty of choice from cereal, toast, fruit and a comprehensive hot menu which was well presented and tasty. What more could you ask for?
Well I can tell you I shall definitely be revisiting. And I would like to thank the owners and staff for there help to make it a wonderful weekend away. Thank you and I look forward to seeing you all again soon.
We checked in on a Wednesday evening , it was a very nice quiet room ....vixen tor room, a nice big free standing bath with radox bubble bath provided. We then walked to the castle Inn for a delicious steak. ( I would recommend you take a torch as no lighting to the village ). The staff are friendly , breakfast was delicious, well cooked , the sausages, eggs and hash brown especially. On our return from a cycle ride the next day we had our bikes locked in the garage and the staff made a booking for us to eat at the Dartmoor Inn, another exceptionally delicious meal. It is a quiet location on the edge of Dartmoor. I would definitely return again.
