Went midweek for an impromptu evening meal. There is a decent size car park with a short walk to the bar entrance. Lovely sized bar area with a couple of wood burners which had been lit and gave the pub a real warm and cosy feel. Friendly staff greet you at the bar. The menu is extensive enough; filled with pub classics, vegetarian options and light bites for lunch. Guest Brewers provide a break from the norm. Food is freshly cooked to order and arrived piping hot and delicious. Well worth a return visit and will recommend to everyone.

“Very Welcoming Traditional Country Pub”
5 of 5 stars
Visited here on Thursday for a friends Birthday drink, they done a lovely buffet so vowed to return with my family which we did tonight. Nice friendly welcome, a great chill out for a couple of hours and excellent food. We had the 3 courses all the dishes were presented well, the food itself was full of flavour and served very professionally, pub grub at it's best. You get what you pay for so all round it deserves an excellent review from us. We eat out most weekends and this will be added to our list of favourite places to eat (& drink) No reservations in recommending to family & friends :-)

We came in for the first time on Sunday & we will definitely be back!! We chose The Golden Lion because it was dog friendly. When we arrived we were greeted by very friendly, helpful staff & they REALLY are dog friendly not just dog tolerant. The Sunday roast is to die for & we can't wait to sample the rest of the menu!!
