We had a family day out at Lowestoft today. We haven't eaten on the pier for years so we thought we'd give it a go. I have to say that my plaice and chips was probably one of the very best fish and chip meals I've ever had. Sweet, beautifully cooked fish, light batter and lovely chips. We had a mixture of dishes, cod and chips, chicken goujons and skate and chips and everyone cleared their plates. There were lots of nice little touches. Large, rectangular plates, a proper quartered lemon to squeeze on the fish, a jug of hot water to keep the teapot going, lovely china cups and saucers and large sachets of Stokes' sauces. Great views and the staff were lovely and helpful. We really really enjoyed it and will certainly go there again if we are in Lowestoft. Heartily recommended.
What a lovely little place.
Called in yesterday before driving back to South Yorkshire for a brew.
The coffee was really good and we had a cheeky bowl of chips which was smashing.
Most of all, even though we just wanted two drinks and a bowl of chips we were made welcome. Really enjoyed the view too.
We were only in town for an hour but found a gem.
Had a breakfast and an all day brunch here and both have been absolutely delicious, high quality ingredients and nice condiments, highly recommend :)
