The food was surprisingly good, when eating plant based food in restaurants I usually thing they are to sweet, but wow this was really good! I'm looking forward to the spring so I can come back and enjoy the outdoor seating which looked really nice.
Cons: (i'm still giving them five stars because I think the food was good and we need more plant based options! :) )
I didn't like the interior because it felt kinda cheap and the music they played was just weird, it was like commercial pop/rock?
The service was just weird, on arrival it was almost empty and they said that the only table they had left was the one closest to the door (cold evening = cold winds every time the door opened) but the next 4 couples that arrived after us didn't have a booking either but they were seated further in the restaurant.
We asked the waiter what she recommended and she just mentioned she was kinda new and hadn't tried everything, that's of course ok, but I think it's kinda weird. Make it easy, mention one dish that you like and or mention one that is popular?
We went on Valentines night for the set menu and the food blew us both away. I just wish I had the stomach capacity to try everything on the menu because I couldn’t help but lust after everyone else’s dishes as well as my own. Valentines night is one of the busiest nights of the year and yet the service was still impeccable. We never had to wait to get another drink or get our plates cleared I cannot fault the incredible level of food and service. Highly highly recommend.
Lovely vegan restaurant with lovely staff. The place is bright with big windows so you can see all around outside. It was slightly chilly when we went in there first, but we were the first customers @ lunch. We were greeted and seated with a smile by the staff members. We had a hot choco, rooibos & apple tea and raspberry lemonade kombucha. The bartender was amazing as he put a strawberry at the side of the kombucha glass and our 3 year old absolutely loved it.
Food wise we wanted to try as many dishes on the menu as we don’t get the chance to travel to London very often. We ordered a pizza for our little one, which for me was one of the best things we tried on the day. Was really yummy with a thin base and super fresh ingredients.
From the small plates we had the kimchi pancakes and the king oyster scallops. The pancakes were good, but slightly over-moist with a sauce. The scallops dish’s best thing were the artichokes with an amazing foam sauce.
From the large plates we had the bang bang broccoli, pumpkin ravioli, Korean tacos and dirty burger. The star was the ravioli for us with it’s creamy sauce and chopped nuts on top. Second best were the yummy potato fries that came with the burger - they were just amaze! The bang bang broccoli salad was better than the broccoli, but overall a good dish if you like battered veggies. The tacos I found slightly chewy to my liking, but taste was good.
For desert we had the creme brûlée and that was truly phenomenal - I can go there just for this desert. We also tried the hazelnut chocolate avocado cake which was a bit dense, but we added some vanilla ice cream and it was great together.
Price wise it’s reasonable for London and just for the fact that this is a wholly vegan restaurant. If you are a vegan or vegetarian or simply want to try food that is healthy and good for you definitely have a look at Stem & Glory.
