Delightful service, lovely decor. Had a table with the view of the bus terminal. Food is great-a blend of indian, mediterraneam, western fusion food. I had the small bites, probably 2x small bites+1 dessertsl. which was more than enough. The black charcoal beef fillet was great, tender on the inside and crisp on the outside. The soft shell crab has a very nice flavorful spiced batter
Menu of Penny Squares is inspired by the international flavours of London’s east end neighbourhood. You will find in it modern British cuisine with richness of flavours from different cultures that has been present in this area of London.
We came with few friends for a couple of drinks to celebrate International Women's Day in Freedom Café and decided to stay for a dinner in Penny Squares.
The staff is ever so profesional and friendly and they will do anything to make you welcomed and comfortable.
The menu is perfect for sharing. We've had pretty much everything from the menu and shared between 6 of us. My personal favourite were: hazelnut harrisa, madras octopus, paprika cuttlefish and tamarind cod. Saying that I have to admit, everything I've tried was delicious and full of flavour - each and every dish amazingly spiced and faultlessly presented.
We've also had all 3 deserts on the menu and these were on yet another level of deliciousness and presentation. Again, my personal favourite was vainilla kataifi but only because I'm nuts for nuts 😁 If it weren't for that, it would honestly difficult to choose a favourite.
We'll definitely be coming back, especially that I've been told menú will be changing seasonly. Yay!
Delicious food and great service. I would say the portion sizes are on the small side for what you actually pay but we had a great time nonetheless. The tabbouleh salad, octopus and beef were a definite recommend.
