The food is brilliant and the space is beautiful! Very stylish and amazing art. The waiters are also clearly very experienced.
Howeverrrr
We arrived for a Saturday morning breakfast before a wedding and the atmosphere was really flat. There were only 2 other tables but granted it was 10.30am. The food was way to slow given there was no one there. I wouldn't mind if it was busy. And the vibe from the waiters (despite being very professional) was so serious and stuffy for a Saturday morning, it felt a bit down beat.
A bit more energy from the team, bit of music and quicker service would be good.

Many restaurants mix various ingredients to create their dishes, but Mount St Restaurant truly achieves exponentially greater flavors and experiences with their starters, mains and desserts. The ambiance and the location are also hard to beat.

Probably one of the best London restaurants been to where the service is excellent. Having not decided on the drinks, told the waiter give us a few min. And he actually come back in a few min not 15-20 min🤣 thoughtout the all the staff were excellent and the food looks and taste excellent. Ordered 2 beef wellingtons and the lamb, Plus sides. Definitely would recommend and return.

Food and venue were fantastic but was let down by the service. Only 4 couples were also having breakfast in the restaurant but for some reason they put us on the worst table right next to the bar/coffee machine. We asked to be seated at a better table which luckily we could. Food was absolutely tremendous! I was still eating my toast while the waiter started clearing the plates. While she had the plates stacked in her hands, asked us if we still wanted to finish the beans - we said no because without cutlery and plates that would have been quite difficult. Then the bill was directly handed to my partner eventhough I had reserved the table and I was paying. On the reservation I also marked that it was a celebration but nobody mentioned anything. I felt for a £75 breakfast (2 mains, 2 coffees and some water), I would have liked the service to match.

I took my partner here for his birthday breakfast. I loved everything about Mount St restaurant, from the decor to the ambience to the service to the food! Highly recommended for any occasion. We can’t wait to go back for lunch or dinner. This is my favourite place for breakfast in London so far!

Delicious beef wellington. Excellent cocktails. Tables are very long so feels less intimate but beautiful interior. Would recommend a visit!

Update: The team at Mount St. reached out after our initial negative experience and asked us if we'd be willing to give the restaurant another try as they were working hard to improve the service. My wife and I agreed to give it another chance, and I am happy to say that they were true to their word. The food and ambience were great and the service was much improved. Credit to the Mount St. for taking feedback on board and trying to do better. They have certainly turned my opinion around for the better!

Original review: I had read great reviews so I came here for my wife's birthday with high expectations. The decor, artwork and atmosphere was great but the food and service was very inconsistent. Dishes took a long time to come out and when they finally did the steak and venison were cold. Even the oysters which just needed to be shucked and put on a plate took over 30 minutes. Some of the staff were friendly and attentive while others were disengaged and distracted. The gentleman at the entrance downstairs was exceptionally friendly and kind, and deserves special mention.
Overall for a restaurant at this price point, there is room for significant improvement.

A beautiful, multi level restaurant with an art focus. The menu is classic but varied, with various caviar, oyster, seafood and meat options. Highlights for us were the lobster pie and beef Wellington.
The beetroot tart was technically well curated but not especially exciting.
Their soufflé was perfectly made and the chocolate mousse is both airy and rich.
The restaurant itself is worth a visit for the building alone- an old building with interesting and striking art. I love the recipe pieces in the corridor.
Definitely worth trying if you're visiting London and want a Mayfair dining experience, without the pretentiousness of a lot of Mayfair spots, a bit old school, with creative interior. Yet the staff were very sweet and welcoming.

We had dinner with friends on a Friday evening. The decor and the art pieces are unique(they also have a Picasso). The service is friendly, but in my opinion, we waited a bit too long between our starters and our mains (maybe also since we ordered the beef Wellington). As a dessert, we had a soufflé. Despite the long wait, it was delicious, and I can recommend it.
The man down stairs is super friendly and merits a special mention. I was slightly disappointed that to go to the toilets you needed to go to the pub downstairs and there was only one toilet. For such a high-end restaurant, you expect to have bathrooms reserved only for clients.
