The spinach side dish was superb.
I didn’t like the service, the waitress was not attentive and didn’t take into concern my preferences. I requested a pasta that is not heavy in cream and she insisted for me to order the ravioli and promised it will be fine. It was so heavy in cream my stomach had problems. I would like it if the waitress would actually recommend items that are not based on her favorite dish. That will be something for the manager to train the staff right.
Aside from that, the restaurant is well decorated and spacious.
What a treat. In the middle of St. Christopher's place, there's this amazing Italian restaurant. Food was authentic and our server Luigi was wonderful and made us feel right at home. We felt spoilt. Very professional and welcoming. I'll be coming here again and again.
A fantastic gem of an Italian restaurant with authentic food from the peninsula, with some especially incredible Sicilian dishes. Slick, stylish, beautifully illuminated, extravagantly decorated with ornate worktops, also incredibly well ventilated (and they have A.C., arguably the most important feature in a searing heatwave of >32°C in this city). Gives the impression of opulence, decadence but also legitimacy: this restaurant is not just designed for clicks on Google or hearts on Instagram. You feel a resident of a grand palace, akin to a dining hall on a lavish yacht cruise. It's never stuffy or pretentious: the staff are humble and genuine. You feel at home, but also well looked after, pampered even, by staff that care to give you a memorable meal. Created by San Carlo, every dish is reasonably priced, generously portioned and much better value than both the local British "Italian" high street chain restaurants adjacent to here, or the supposedly higher end (much costlier) "fine-dining" Italian restaurants found in Marylebone, Kensington, Mayfair, Covent Garden and Soho. They have some seasonal dishes and drinks always worth trying; the staff are friendly, attentive, very warm and polite and knowledgeable of their menu, able to offer genuine personal recommendations (only if an indecisive visitor insists!) The wine list is extensive and glorious, even though it wasn't for us this evening. They have aged varieties and pairings to try and adjacent patrons looked very content at their selections.
Jennifer, our waitress, was especially efficient and very friendly, making our dinner on a Saturday very late night, one to remember for the outstanding hospitality and good spirits.
N.B. the photos were taken deliberately after closing time late into the night (around 2330) to avoid taking photos of random members of the public and to give the best sense of space, layout, interior design and decor. The kitchen closed at 2230 and the restaurant, theoretically half an hour afterward.
However, it's testament to the excellent staff service that they allowed us all to enjoy the ambience and take our time polishing off our dishes (the pastas are lick-the-bowl delicious!) It feels as if you've eaten dishes freshly prepared by Nonna's hand. What more is there to say? We paid for the bill and then had a lovely, leisurely, extremely homely and satisfying dining experience. One that none of us would hesitate to strongly recommend to everyone!
