The Carlton tavern is only .3 of a mile away from the Marriott hotel in Maida Vale. So we walked there for lunch. It was very busy as there was a rugby game about to start. There are 3 different rooms in which you can sit to eat and drink. There's also plenty of outdoor seating. A lot of people come with their dogs. Most of them stay outside. A few of them brought their dogs inside. There are also A LOT of children. It looked as much like a daycare center as it did a bar. On a Saturday afternoon there were at least a dozen toddlers in the restaurant at any given time. So, it's definitely kid and dog friendly. Since they were so busy we had to go to the bar to order our food and drinks. We got a table right next to the front window in a small room with a fireplace and bar. I ordered a glass of white wine (not on the main menu. There's a separate wine menu), and my husband ordered a beer. For lunch I ordered the roasted chicken with a side of broccoli. My husband ordered the steak frite with chimichurri. Everything was very good! There was a yummy garlic sauce on the broccoli and more garlic on the chicken. We both finished our plates. We had to go to the bar to ask for the check. I've found this to be common in London if you don't want to wait too long for things. I highly recommend giving the Carlton a try. It's reasonably priced, has a warm and inviting atmosphere, and the staff are very friendly and welcoming.

It’s our favourite neighbourhood pub and we like spending time in there. And food was surprisingly very good at pub food standards . They update the menu seasonally and their chef was always doing a great job! However, we were there yesterday and unfortunately we realised that the food was different - maybe they changed their chef - . Beef and veggie burgers weren’t as good as usual, they were very tasteless , and the chunky chips weren’t definitely up to their standards ( I say this because we used to love their chunky chips !) I don’t know what’s happening in the kitchen but please bring back the your usual quality:( On the other hand, we always feel welcomed. Great team, and great atmosphere. And it would be even better if they extend their drink selection ; having Utopian beer, and more wine options :)

We come in June during our trip in London. The place is really cosy, they've great beers and the fish&chips was delicious. Fresh fish, home cooked sauce and fries. Perfect for our first night in London !

Nice, cosy pub close to Paddington Rec. Quite spacious inside, and also has plenty of outside tables. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. I had a Sunday beef roast, which hit the spot! Didn't have time for dessert but they had good options. I liked the local artwork in the dining room as well. Will definitely return in the future.

Came by here for a work lunch. Great seating options inside and outside. They have wonderful service, and the staff were all friendly and helpful. The food was very good, better than most pubs. I had a fish/chips and the peas were well done as well. Some good beers on draft as well, enjoyed a cask bitter.

Awesome little local pub. The food here is phenomenal- my boyfriend said his steak was one of the best he ever had, with chimi churri making an excellent addition. The sweet potato goat cheese lasagna was really unexpected but quite good! Really cozy and nice variety of beers on tap. The patio is amazing for when the weather is out, really good vibes here, people even bring their dogs, would recommend!

Best sunday roast I've had in the neighborhood. The pork belly was cooked to perfection and they had a nice cote de rhone by the glass which was lovely. The staff were friendly and helpful. We sat in the beer garden right next to the park and a loop after eating helped us feel less full. Plus lots of dogs to say hi to! Awesome pub, will definitely be back.

Lovely pub which was rebuilt after being illegally demolished. Visited one warm Sunday afternoon, and enjoyed a couple of good beers. Staff was very friendly, and extremely knowledgeable on the beers served, which is always a plus point when you're not sure on which of the available choices you want. Will definitely be back!
