Discovered this place (the St. Paul's branch) last week and finally got my first lunch from there today. I was so excited when I entered, the food looks really "clean", with no weird sauces and cooked in very little oil (if any).. just the way I love it! I got a box with chicken, asparagus and avocado. The chicken is lightly seasoned with some herbs, the asparagus steamed (I'm pretty sure there's no added salt, which I always prefer) and the avocado... well, it's just avocado. I am one of those pretty food-conscious people, I don't like unnecessary greasiness, complication and "hidden" ingredients in my food for 2 main reasons: health and fitness. I also feel like excessive seasoning and complexity are disrespectful towards the ingredients that the land genuinely offers. Natural ingredients don't need as much, they're already delicious as they are, naturally. I believe Protein Haus targets a food/health/body-conscious audience, whatever the reason(s) behind that choice, so I really hope they do well, especially in St. Paul's cause it's the spot that's closest to my office. It's pretty hard to find places with this kind of culture in London and in the UK in general, so I'm very very happy about this!
Had the Posh protein (chicken, sundried tomato, sweet potato and salad) and was happy with it - for a cold dish, tastes actually better than you would expect. Only complaint, sweet potato portion could have been a little larger. Everything felt fresh (salad was crisp). The protein shakes are very nice, but a little too sweet. Worths the visit!
I have been to a number of Protein Haus sites but the Moorgate branch is without a doubt my favourite, this is based purely on the customer service provided by two members of the team; Jack and Jehnai.
In the evenings I very much look forward to ordering a Lean PB at Protein Haus after my Barry’s Bootcamp class and to be greeted by both Jack and Jehnai. I question whether I would travel to the store if they would not be there as I could quite easily order my shake at Barry’s and have it sitting ready for me after class. A large part of why I do is that I recognise how hard they both work and it is so incredibly lovely to be greeted by such happy, helpful, positive sales assistants- it’s rare to find shops which provide their level of customer service, they both truly go above and beyond What is expected on a daily basis. Other branches I have visited I have not had such a great experience (this is based purely on customer engagement) so I have not returned.
People remember how you make them feel, and I have found that with them just smiling, being interested and recognising that you are a regular customer make a tremendous difference (especially at the end of a long day). Good customer service is treating customers in a friendly manner- the power of recognition and employee engagement makes the experience memorable and enjoyable and is what generates repeat business. In busy London we forget that we’re humans interacting with humans, they do not forget that and are consistently bringing a smile to all of your customers faces. They are a true asset to your business.
