Originally when it opened it was an organic cafe and it still retains some of that earthy feel. The interior is exposed brickwork, wood and green plants with a TV providing a very modern distraction.
The menu is broad with a good range of breakfasts and lunch items.
The coffee is excellent and there's a large range of teas.
Can get particularly crowded at the weekend especially fur brunch.
If you're vegetarian there are a few options around the menu and if you're in the know a few off the menu. It pays to ask what they can do for you.
Poor coffee, has gone hill a bit since the last owners. However the staff are friendly and were happy to answer any questions we had. Relatively cheap for Hackney 2.20 for a flat white coffee. The hot chocolate is great with a thick chocolate powder on top, which I like, may not be to everyone’s taste though. The menu has a good range of food for breakfast and lunch, which is very nice and tasty and reasonable priced. There is an option to sit outside, with about six chairs and three tables, which is nice with the weather now. Inside there are leather sofas and a big round table and chairs if your with friends. The TV has music on in the morning until afternoon and then the news sometimes until it close’s.
Accidentally ended up having lunch in this cafe during the week, and was quite impressed with the choice of food and drinks. Their smoothies are to die for! Good value and friendly staff. We've got a table outside, as the sun was shining that day, but the pollution and noise from the cars around was a little annoying. There are a few bike racks just outside of this cafe, which is helpful for those who cycle :)
Lovely, buzzing café away from the hustle and bustle of Broadway market at the weekend. The food is good value and delicious. You can choose from great big cooked breakfasts (including veggies versions) to sandwiches and salads. The staff are friendly and there is good service. I see lots of people using their laptops in here and working over a cup of coffee - there is definitely an atmosphere that encourages lingering over your lunch and having a good natter. There is also a Tv with a news channel on (quietly) which is nice if you have popped in on your own.
Hung out here for 3 hours. Had the best hot chocolate I've had this winter. It could have only been better with a bit of Bailey's.
