Dhaba Lane recently catered a family gathering for us at very short notice and did an incredible job from beginning to end! Upma was a pleasure to liaise with and was very professional, responsive, helpful and easy to communicate with in planning the menu and delivery. The food was delicious and tasted just like homemade Indian food packed with all the flavours, but without all the grease and oil you find in restaurant food. The chef did an excellent job of accommodating spice levels that we had indicated to be sure everyone could enjoy the food (their medium spicy level can be enjoyed by all). Our guests shared many times how amazing the food was and went back for more helpings without hesitating, which is a great sign :) The food was delivered piping hot and in a very timely manner, as they planned well for Friday evening traffic. Each item was packed neatly and the portions were generous. Dhaba Lane is a safe pair of hands for catering Indian Food, we will definitely be calling them again!
We used Dhaba Lane to cater for our daughter's birthday party. The food could not have been better if we tried. It was fresh, healthy and delivered piping hot and catered to toddlers and grown ups, Indian and non-Indian palettes alike. The parents were thrilled to see their usually picky eater toddlers go back for seconds and thirds and as hosts we were happy to see everyone really relishing the food. The food itself was a modern twist on Indian classics like chicken curry and paneer and potato fillings in brioche buns. Salad with lentils and a mango chutney based dressing and lightly spiced and baked potato cakes with some tamarind sauce, yogurt and mild chickpea curry. We also had fresh seasonal berries with a dash of shrikhand (flavoured hung yogurt). Dhaba Lane was superb in their service, right from suggestions for the menu to the food, to actual delivery and setting up. It was fresh, healthy and suitable for all age groups and taste buds, all of which you would not usually associate with Indian food. We cannot recommend Dhaba Lane enough.
In an area not short of Indian eateries, this one stands out from the crowd. I love a traditional British-Indian Ruby, but you generally can't function very well after eating one. You could eat from Dhaba Lane every day and feel good about it, and the food has all the flavour, aroma and richness you want. The curries are great, bread is superb. Wish I worked closer so I could come for lunch.
