Went there last night with my wife and son and can honestly say this is the best Indian we have eaten for years. Everything was perfect from the popadoms (mint sauce best EVER) to the melt in the mouth lamb madras. Great service and the prices are no higher than anywhere else but the quality is far beyond any others I know. Go there, you will be seriously impressed!
Friends and I came here - again - and it never ceases to impress. I have to say that, while I do like indian food, it is not top of my list for going out as I often find it is same-same or simply non-inspiring, heavy, sometimes too oily etc. But then there is Ruchi: A local, cozy, friend & family friendly, impeccably serviced neighborhood restaurant that very much provides an 'at home' experience. Cost is reasonable for quality, there is outside space should the weather be good and every dish ordered is consistently reliable - I've made a point of ordering something different every time I've visited. Particularly enjoyed the Goan dishes. If it was nearer to home we would be here more often! Not only a safe bet but offering more on the pleasure ladder.
Great little restaurant, if you like the kind of Indian food that is served in England (I definitely do). I had the King Prawns in Goan Green Masala, fantastically spicy and fresh, well recommended. My wife had Lamb Biryani, was OK to my and her taste. Dinner for 4 with beers and two bottles of wine = 85 quid... great value.
