Mamalan Clapham Common

Stopped here as I've had nothing to eat since breakfast. Got to say the food was served very quick following ordering and all seems freshly prepared nice and hot too (temperature not spicy hot). The menu was not busy nor overloaded with options. The staffs are welcoming and the place was cosy, clean and comfortable.

Honestly, anyone who said it is great probably not Chinese... I was in the area and saw it says they are authentic Sichuan Chinese food and I was hungry so looked forward to it very much. However, VERY DISAPPOINTED. I ordered steamed dumpling and vegetarian noodle in soup. Dumpling is served cold sent it back and then the vegetables they put in the noodle soup was raw. If the soup itself is boiling hot and they threw the raw vegetables on the top that makes sense. However, the soup itself is really not hot at all... I can't eat them at all. Walked out feeling hungry and disappointed. It's a shame...

Awful! I was very excited about trying MamaLan as had seen good press about the place a while back. Whilst I was in the area, I thought I would give it a try, but I was so disappointed by the experience. The service was firstly awful. 2 of the staff members were just sat on the table behind us, playing super loud music and flicking songs as if they were just chilling at home. The vibe felt like we were in a cheap fast food restaurant. We asked the waitress for recommendations, she was not helpful at all and didn’t act professional. We ordered prawn crackers and we had to ask for them after waiting for a long time so that they remembered that we ordered them. The food was not good and the cutlery was also dirty. When we went to pay the bill, we asked to remove the service charge, the waitress said this wasn’t possible even though service charge is not a compulsory charge. Do not recommend!
