Originally found this place while searching for somewhere that would do me late night coffee with an atmosphere conducive to study/work. In Austin, Texas I had been spoiled for this type of establishment (many of them 24 hours) and while the Cable Cafe does not deliver on all points it comes the closest of any London coffee shop. The coffee is usually very good and I cannot recall a bad experience with this. The staff are also top notch and have an excellent feel for their regulars while the atmosphere is fantastic even on nights when it is too busy to be conducive to real work. Topping all of this off with a great location about a block from Oval Station on the Northern Line and I had one of my regular watering holes. Even though I just relocated outside of London I will make a point of dropping by on the occasional visit to South London.
