French restaurant with a set menu in Stoke Newington. Seats about 20 people so has a lovely atmosphere. All five courses were tasty and pleasantly portioned. Staff were friendly and chatty (if you start the conversation). We celebrated our anniversary so I would definitely recommend for a special occasion
An excellent Saturday dinner at Ceres. It was May and we had a menu full of local spring veg and herbs. As appetisers goat cheese donuts with a superb texture. Delicious fish and meat cooked to perfection, with the right seasoning and sides: wild garlic, padron peppers, asparagus, jersey royals…
Surprising dessert, I loved the balance of sweet, acid and bitter (delicious banana ice cream, meringue, passion fruit and dark chocolate)
Curated wine list, lovely lovely service and (female) chef full of passion.
Congratulations to you ladies.
the ambience and service at this local new restaurant are well above 5*. we went for dinner during one of their Tuesday seafood-themed evenings, and enjoyed a five course tasting menu with wine pairing for just £45, which was really super value for money. food was a mix of very good (oysters, octopus) and good (pear tart, cod, mussles). homemade rye bread and (shop-bought) butter were not on par with the rest. food portions were a bit on the small side (at least the cod and octopus, the others were ok) while the wine was abundant and of very good quality. I'd recommend changing the glasses between wines if doing the wine pairing, not only when switching white/red. overall a very good experience.
