Flippin' lovely chippie.
We were regulars when the previous owner had it and were dubious about the chippie coming under new ownership. Thankfully our fears were unfounded. The chips are lovely and fluffy on the inside, a good size and super tasty. The fish is fresh and cooked to perfection - the fish is delicate and moist, the batter super crunchy. We love getting a pot of their homemade Tarter sauce.
The owner cooks a lot of the food on offer from scratch and proudly displays his ingredients on the walls of the chippie. The owner cares about his customers and realises that people want to know what they are eating and that it is of a good quality. The owner and his staff are very friendly and they seem to have endeared themselves to all of the locals.
This is the benchmark that other chippies need to aim for.
I stopped here by chance after a long drive from docklands, and didn't expect a taste so good like this place!. The staff were exceptionally polite welcoming, and made time for a friendly chat.
The place had a family run feel, and very home made everything!. The menu is very cosy and appealing being all home made!.
The chips were straight fresh tasting, and the mushy peas are the best I've come across in London on my travels.
I will definitely be stopping by again, and again very soon.
Thanks Stones!.
Excellent food- cooked in front of you - hot and fresh! Delicious! Portions are huge - great bargain. There is a park around the corner with picnic tables. A great picnic dinner. Excellent and friendly guys working the counter.
