Smashed through £55 worth of tequila shots here once. I'd say that's the sign of either a fantastic or a terrible Friday night. I'm not quite sure yet.
Abbey is the perfect place for people looking to spend a relaxed and very fresh evening with colleagues/ friends.
Food: The overall meal was a good experience, having tried the Chargrilled chicken and bacon burger. However, the very positive point was having the very delicious Cheesecake as a desert. I truly have to say that the cheesecake exceeded my expectations and Ii has truly been one of the best cheesecake I've had in a long time.
Ambiance: Two words to describe Abbey's overall ambiance would be "relaxed" and "casual". This is the perfect place to grab a pint with colleagues and friends after a long day at work.
Service: special mention for the service. from the moment you walk into the restaurant, you are directly welcome with smiles from the restaurant's personnel.
Recommendation: The biggest surprise of the evening was the "Expresso Martini", a very surprising mix of martini and coffee expresso cocktail.
This place is live, happening and vibrant on most days reaching its crescendo on Friday. Being close to our office, this used to be our usual haunt. They have happy hours till 8 I think when you could buy a pint for 2 for beers in promotion - the have it displayed prominently inside so you can't miss it. If you are going in a group, best is to reserve a table at the entrance, as that area is sort of secluded and does not get cramped as the other areas.
On Thursday and Friday, the floor downstairs gets packed and gets seriously alive after people have binged up on the happy hour drinks - a place not to be missed if you are looking to find a date.
