I was very sceptical of this place beforehand. I knew I was craving Georgian food and found this gem very accidentally on my way to Starbucks on High street Kensington. Mind you, the entrance is opposite of appealing and I remember thinking the restaurant must be permanently closed. A glance at their outside menu was convincing enough for me to call and book a table for two. The restaurant opens at 6.30pm on week days. If you do turn up at 6.30 until 7 you will most probably be the only customers , but it gets busier by 8pm. As someone who knows authentic Georgian food, I was very impressed. We paid £75 for two but that's because we pretty much tried everything on the menu as well as different Georgian wines. It will probably cost you £45 for two with a glass of wine each, starter and main. The food is absolutely delicious. We ordered the Mezze platter which contained all the starters, khachapuri khinkali (dumplings) and pork shashlik (bbq). The only waiter who was a middle aged man seemed gloomy at first but soon opened up and showed his true hospitable Georgian self. Lovely Georgian and at times Russian music.
I definitely recommend the place for an unforgettable dinner and pleasant atmosphere.
We loved the authentic design and atmosphere, wonderful Georgian music and amazing Georgian food. I wish I could give 10 stars instead of 5!!!
What an experience. The food truly is fresh. The chef is making it all to order and the quality shows. We had the Georgian Meze starter full of things I had never tried, the flavours were fantastic and new to me.
Dumplings are a must, simply a must.
Can’t wait to go back and try more of the menu.
Owner took the time to come round and explain and about the beautiful decor and dishes. Clearly passionate about his craft.
