LOVE their food. Everything is fresh and cooked in front of you, so you can trust that nothing has that pre-cooked-left-under-a-heater-all-day-taste. All the food is also marinated all day and displayed in a counter in front of you, so if you're not sure what to order, you can just see whats in front of you and pick it out. It doesn't take them long to cook it either, which is great, so at the most, you would be waiting for ten minutes.
The only bad thing I'd say about the place is that they seem to have a little trouble with their pricing. They have two different menus displaying the exact same meals available, with two different prices. The prices on the small menu near the till are cheaper, so if you point to the meal you want on the small menu, they will charge you that price, but if you point to a meal on the big menu displayed behind the till, they will charge you that price. A little confusing but good value food either way. Would recommend.
Had a lovely chicken Biriyani to take away. Plenty of well-cooked chicken and rice, popping with the tastes of zingy black pepper, cinnamon and other spices. This is not a traditional-style British-Indian restaurant, nor does it try to be. It is more of a fast-food joint, along the lines of the Bangladeshi cafes that you get in the East End, with a small range of authentic, down-to-earth dishes at affordable prices. If, like me, you don't mind picking the meat off the bones, this is definitely recommended. Oh, and they have vegetarian curry and lentil dahl too.
This place is incredible! The veggy samosas were delicious and crispy, the Tarka Daal was to die for and the Chana Masala amazing! The chana curry not so great, but the food tastes real and fresh, like it was just cooked from fresh ingredients. Absolutely amazing food, next time I am in London I will certainly be stopping by again.
