For vegetarians, Itsu does not have much to offer. During my visit, I ordered the vegetable sushi and a salad bowl. Both my items were very tasty and the 7-veggie smoothie rounded off my healthy meal. In terms of coming back on a frequent basis, I would be skeptical especially for vegetarians as there is really not much choice and variety.
Itsu has food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. For breakfast, there are various juices, yogurts, and Japanese specialities such as edamame beans. Although Itsu is fast-food, it is on the expensive side as I paid £12 for my drink, salad, and sushi
In need of a hot soup on a rainy school day, I decided to give Itsu a try. I went for the Classic Chicken soup and it was just what I needed. It was a perfect combination of tangy and seasoned, with chicken breast pieces and rice noodles. The ambiance at Itsu is very clean and fresh, all the furniture is wooden and the restaurant's color scheme is light giving off a very peaceful experience.
I am a total foodie and after countless charcuterie and cheese boards I need an itsu fix on a weekly basis to make me feel healthier. Everything about itsu from the listing of calories next to the sushi boxes to the colours and design of the brand implies vitality, health and vibrancy.
The sushi is always fresh and I love the variety of choice and the combinations found in each box. I don't usually go for the noodle soups but when I have in the past they were surprisingly satisfying.
I was surprised to see the addition of sandwiches to the menu in the last year or so - I don't think it was necessary - and have yet to try one although I am tempted. Finally the frozen yogurt is a must with fresh fruit. Itsu is exactly what it pretends to be; a quick, easy and delicious way to eat healthy.
