I visited this restaurant after a clip I saw on social media.
The general impression is ok.
Location: cannot say much about it as I’m not a Londoner but, it was a walking distance from subway which was fine.
Restaurant: very small and cramped seating area, clean. Gets really busy as many will walk in and wait to pick their orders.
Service: we were lucky, we came just before the rush hour I believe, we didn’t wait long to sit. Our orders came accurate even though we made a couple of changes after we ordered. Waiters are polite and helpful.
Food quality: now, I am middle eastern by background and have been there and eaten similar food. There isn’t much difference between the food I had there and this restaurant. Food was hot, made-to-order, good quality and very reasonable price. Expect a wait of 10-15 min for your food to come.
I loved the Arabic shawarma, plated nicely and the sandwich was filled generously. I have also tried the Broasted chicken it was worth ordering.
The restaurant offers freshly squeezed juice which is a bonus, my partner had the carrot juice.
Overall; although I travelled 2 hours to get there, I wasn’t disappointed at all.
This place is sooooo busy and for good reason, the food is amazing and I would say it’s the best fried chocking in North West London. And that creates it own problem because you have to wait ages to be served, I think they need a bigger place, don’t get me wrong you pay very quickly but you have to wait ages for your food. Depending on what day it is, people are queuing outside to sit down and waiting to collect their order. But that’s because the food is amazing. The staff are polite and obviously rushed off their feet.
I don’t have no real negative comments about this place apart from the waiting time and as mentioned it’s because of the popularity of the place. One comment though is that they should be consistent which who serves, today I did not get the normal pickles that comes with the spicy chicken meal, which I normally do.
Today I went to buy lunch and I was served by a gentleman I’ve never seen before and I’ve been there about ten times now with and without guests, he might even be one of the owners.
He served me and I asked how long will it take, he said 20 minutes and I mistakenly said “that’s long” simply because it was not that busy today and when it’s busy it’s normally 20 minutes , he then decided to explain to me that this was not KFC and everything is freshly cooked, I paused him and said I have been here before and I kind of knew that but he was polite so no problem.
All in all this is a great place to eat if you can get a seat. Please don’t get upset if you can’t be seated. And again repeat the staff are great the food is great.
Unassuming place.
No fuss, but great food. I will say this, the food service isn't fast, but the food is freshly prepared and presented well. Normally I would have an issue waiting more than 40 minutes after ordering, however definitely worth the wait.
The fried chicken is probably the most juicy and moist fried chicken I have eaten, it had a unique taste, very much so like oregano, I had the spicy variety, which actually isn't that spicy, but definitely tasty. The chicken is proper crispy!
The crisp cut chips are lovely too, maybe a touch too much seasoning for my liking, however, still very good. Also served with pickles, the only thing missing in my opinion was a salad. I also ordered a lamb and chicken shawarma plate, again this was generously served with the same crisp style chips and pickles. All very well presented and very tasty, the lamb is proper lamb and the chicken proper chicken, and well seasoned and cooked.
This is a hidden gem of a place, they focus on quality instead of speed, it takes as long as it takes approach.
If you don't mind the wait this place is definitely worth a visit.
I can highly recommend the experience, but I would probably not want to go during the evening, only because I can imagine it gets extremely busy and this place isn't huge.
