The food is incredible!
Try the asparagus paella (divine caramelised edge to it), the cheese board (tiny but exquisite and punchy cheese that should be (and was) enjoyed in small portions), the mackerel (out of this world), the sea bass ceviche (mindblowing).
We initially thought it looked too expensive for a restaurant in Brockley, but then the food arrived and it was so delicious that we couldn’t believe the value! A new fave for sure, this will be one for birthdays and anniversaries!
Had an excellent dinner here with my parents from out of town. The staff were lovely and attentive. We tried most of the tapas: tortilla, confit artichokes with black pudding (⭐️⭐️⭐️), garlic gambas, lamb (⭐️⭐️⭐️), spinach and leek croquetas (⭐️⭐️⭐️), white asparagus. Everything was so delicious. The wine list is impressive as well. We had a bottle of Albariño which complemented everything. Would definitely recommend and I can’t wait to go back!
L’Oculto Cocina is the kind of hidden gem that you want to tell everyone about, but also keep it a secret so that not too many people find out. The food is excellent quality with an inventive, delicious and regularly changing menu. The wine list focusses on natural wines which are sensibly priced and brilliantly selected. Perhaps the best thing about L’Oculto is the lovely atmosphere and super team, who make every visit feel like a special occasion. The friend that I took at the weekend said that it would now be his secret go to spot for dates… watch out ladies of south east London!!
