Ever wonder where you can get cheap African and Caribbean food? Look no further than Cafe spice! Cafe spice is located at the centre of Peckham, a city well known for its low cost food stuffs, hair products and cheap manicure.
Cafe spice serve mainly Nigerian food like fried rice, jollof rice, egusi soup and pando yam with spicy beef, chicken and fish. You can get a savoury meal for as low as 5 pounds. On days when I have deep cravings for real African food, I ignore the distance from Baker Street where my Uni is located and treat myself to a delicious meal most times in the company of friends.
I personally prefer a mixture of their jollof and fried rice with fried beef. The beef is sizable, deep fried and very tasty. You could sense that it has been seasoned by a good cook with the appropriate spices in their correct proportions.
Contrary to what you would expect of any restaurant in Peckham, cafe spice is very neat, small but comfy with amiable staffs. It’s a nice place to hang out with friends.
Excellent service with amazing food must try!
I used to come here when I was a teenager and I always loved the food. It was my favorite African food shop. But I moved away, and after 10 years, I came back to the area and realized that most of the food places taste different from what they used to be. However, Cafe Spice managed to keep their signature flavor and made it even better. The food is delicious, and the jollof and meat taste fresh. It's a bit pricey to order online, but it's worth it. I really enjoyed my meal. Thank you.
