Hi guys if you are in Camden And you need to relax and have some breakfast or a snack or just a coffee or a simple cold drink then after coming out of Camden Town station or before you go in, then this little eatery which is near the worlds end night club by the zebra crossing is a nice place to start. The current owner has been here since 2008 and survived the pandemic so this review is to try and give those guys who struggled through covid a little help.
If your route is walking down from Camden road overground station then it will be on your left it’s called Lamentine, the eatery has seating outside where you can sit and eat or buy a coffee and watch the world go by or there are a few seats inside but space inside is limited.
The reason I like this place is because of the owner Solly, he takes care and is polite and careful with the preparation of food and that’s important to me. The place is clean, the chicken escalope is my favourite I didn’t take any photos of it because I didn’t buy one on this visit but it’s delicious trust me.
They have a great assortment of soft drinks that are always nice and cold, also a nice selection of muffins. When you find a place where you can trust the food, it’s always good to recommend it.
If you are sitting outside you can see the entrance to Camden Town station to your left and the Camden Eye pub is opposite. And to the left of that is the brand spanking new Wendy’s I think I need to do a revue of that place soon but I haven’t eaten from there as yet so I can’t do that until I do. So pop into Lamentine and mention that you read my review on Google and see if my name rings a bell 🛎 let me know if your experience was as good as mine, enjoy.
A small cafe just opposite Camden tube station.
The coffee is good for 2.50 and a nice portion big English breakfast 🍳 for £9
Friendly staff
As a tourist to London we were looking for breakfast somewhere and spotted this cafe, there was no prices next to the breakfast poster to the right of the menu boards but we were surprised to find our bill only came to £23 for 3 people with drinks included in that price and 3 large breakfasts! For London this was the cheapest breakfast we came across on our travels. The two gentlemen working there were fab and cooked the breakfast to perfection - I’m unsure why the reviews below are bad I suspect this has maybe changed ownership since those reviews were posted but I’d definitely visit this cafe again!
