We’ve been spending quite a bit of time in south west London recently. And we’ve been enjoying perfect pizza from Firezza Battersea too. Firezza sell themselves as delivering pizza that is “fire baked and super fast”. And that is exactly what they do.
We had a salsiccia – *new* White pizza with Sicilian sausage meat, friarielli (Italian wild broccoli), fresh cream, garlic, mozzarella, olive oil and red chilli; a spicy piccante @ £9.25 – ‘nduja (spicy, soft calabrian sausage), gyulai pepperoni, fresh basil and green chilli with tomato and mozzarella, and a porcini Di bosco @ £9.75 – white pizza with wild porcini mushrooms, fresh field mushrooms, Tartuffata (truffle cream), creamy Taleggio cheese, mozzarella, Gran Moravia (Hard Cheese) shavings, cream and tarragon.
All were absolutely divine...
One of the best. Certainly as good as I've had elsewhere in London and a nautical mile ahead of some of the other 'gourmet' pizza options. Their chorizo and sweet pepper option is particularly worth a try. See the full review at www.grumblinggourmet.com
Firezza make a great pizza. Wood fired Neapolitan pizza by the 12" pie or by the half metre. The recipes are broadly authentic, and they don't scrimp on the toppings. The chewy, freshly made crust is slightly charred in places, highlighting its uneven aut
