As a veggie, I can't comment on the fish part of "The Original Fish & Chip Company", however I can vouch for their chips. Chunky, well cooked and served in huge portions at cheap prices, they are the perfect drunk/hangover food. The chippie also offers other greasy goods like sausage or bacon butties as well as sandwiches and wraps. I did get the veggie wrap once but as it was simply tomato, lettuce and onion, I won't be rushing back for another in a hurry...
There are a few tables outside the walk-up fish bar where you can wait while your dishes are fried, or eat in the sun.
However, my favourite thing about this chippie is the connecting sushi store. Yay sushi! A contrast to the fried fish next door, the shop offers freshly made sushi daily which is ten times better than the stuff you get in nearby supermarkets. The vegetarian rolls with avocado, cucumber and carrot are fresh and tasty and the vegetable gyoza are delicious! My only complaint about the sushi store is the reduced hours it is open - it's usually shut on a Sunday and closes early during the week.
I have been going here since i was a young child however as i grown up i get food from here less and less despite always walking past. However tonight, I decided to sit down and eat here once again
We got fish and chips with mushy peas. The mushy peas used to be better. The fish is still great and big in size, also very fresh tasting and white on the inside. The food is server hot and at a decent service time. It seems to be of high quality as it always has been, which is great to see that the place has not changed
If you live in Southfields, and you don’t know the main guy who runs this place, do you even live in Southfields? The dude is an actual legend. Even on a cold and rainy Friday late evening, the place is still busy and serving all sorts of fast food
Lovely fish and chips massive piece of fish. Cooked as I waited and well worth the wait. Would recommend if you are off to Wimbledon forenight. Jump of the tube and cross the road. You will not eat for the rest of the day. Plus their is a bus stop 50 yards down the road that will take to Church Street Wimbledon. So no excuses.I would highly recommend!
