Crouch End’s new high street craft alehouse. Maiden visit on 28th February 2018. Rectangular single-roomed venue with exposed brickwork, mostly chair-and-table seating, and perimeter bar stools. A compact, spatially efficient bar at the rear is situated opposite a pizza oven. Five carefully chosen, well-kept cask ales come with a sizeable keg offer of twelve interesting keg beers. It is a very long time since I enjoyed Magic Rock Ringmaster quite so much as last night. Friendly, enthusiastic staff run the bar and pizza oven - you must try the marinara! Music was at a fairly comfortable level, and while the overhead Led lighting is mostly subdued, small, bright corner is available with perimeter seating for 2 people. A destination venue .
Top quality, well served cask and keg ales is this pub's speciality. And they do it better than any pub in the area. And the Napoli style pizzas are great too.
I have lived in Crouch End for 12 years - and I've been waiting for someone to open a proper decent boozer, with a genuinely well thought out beer selection like this, for the whole of that time. Augustiner? Taras Boulba? Kernel? Heaven!
