Booked at Casa fofo for my partner's 30th birthday and had the loveliest experience. Food was outstanding, all courses were so original and yummy, met all our expectations for a 1 star Michelin. The menu follows the chef inspiration but all our dietary requirements were catered for. As an appetiser, we had a fabulous freshly baked bread with homemade butter that was so creamy and soft. Was followed by a fish dish of the finest quality and mushroom dish with a special BBQ and beef taste that I found was so original. We were then served lemon raviolis and a porc dish that was out of this world. The porc was cooked to perfection at low temperature and served with the tenderest and juiciest bacon slice I ever had. But my absolute favourite was the desert: a special type of tiramisu with a truffle / mushroom taste. So original but also so good. The meal was full of surprises as we were also given nibbles at the begining, a miso soup between starters and main, a yogurt sorbet as a pre desert and some small cakes at the end. All of that very reasonably priced at 68£. My partner had the wine flight (6 glasses) for 55£ which he enjoyed a lot, with natural wines that matched so well with all dishes. Service and atmosphere is unfussy, with the chef himself coming to explain his creations and making sure that all dietary requirements will be met. Overall this was the best birthday feast we could have thought of, no hidden service charge added on the bill as with many london venues, and all the family was pleased! We can't wait to come back next time we will be in London!
EXCELLENT!!! I went for lunch and I’ve tried the 6 course menu accompanied with the wine pairing. The food was delicious and the staff was very nice and knowledgeable. Well done guys.
I came here with my girlfriend for her birthday and I can’t fault it. We went for the tasting menu and wine pairing, which is incredible value for money for what you are getting.
We were sat in the front dining room by the kitchen so we could see the chefs assembling the beautifully crafted, seasonal dishes at the pass. We had a wonderful waitress who made us feel very welcome and talked us through the dishes and the paired wines in an understandable, non-w**ky way.
The bread and butter was a spongy sourdough with a thick, crisp crust, which was a perfect vessel for mopping up sauces from a delicious and varied tasting menu. The highlight dish for me was a small charred onion which was sat in a silky duck sauce. The taste very much reminded me of Peking duck from a Chinese takeaway - salty, warmly spiced, rich and moreish!
