A Local Treat!. This is such a lovely place and the food is great. The owners have given so much care to detail here and everytime we have been we have been looked after so well. As locals i would much rather support places like this than chain restaurants that are so impersonal. They do take away delivery too but the restaurant is so lovely inside we always prefer to go there instead!
I have been asked in recent times why I don’t have more local restaurants in south London. My answer to that question or demand by some is a little Thai restaurant based in clapham that ticks all the boxes whether you want to invite a large group or want a private dining experience, good service, inside and outside dining. Oh but the food!! I like so many of you, choose what I feel comfortable with or what feels familiar but I felt adventurous maybe it was the smoky red decor that lured me into a adventurous state……but I decided to order ‘Lost in Blvd’ which is a rich lamb shank in Massaman curry with potato and peanut.I know you have heard this many times when people can’t find the right descriptive phrases to describe a great meal but I apologise in advance but think lamb shank and accompanying curry melted literally in my mouth, so much so I had to invite my fellow diners to have a try and it wasn’t just myself that felt a warm glow of satisfaction.I almost forgot to take pictures and notes while I was there to right this post, that’s how good the food was, the service was both attentive and welcoming, you felt that you was being welcomed to someone’s house for a home cooked meal, rather than paying for a service.I’m almost scared to return in case it doesn’t match up to my first visit but the lamb shank alone has played on my mind enough to return to Bangkok Boulevard. They also offer deals 25% off or 2 course & glass of wine £15 – from open table.Cost of meal ~ £25 and under Group size – 2 to 12 Location ~ 87 Lavender Hill, London, SW11 5QLCarlstimeout rating 9/10Writer ~ C.Y
Great Thai food! For starters, we had the Boulevard platter and the 1/4 duck. The duck was a favorite (wrapped in pancakes with Hoisin sauce), the Satay and fish cakes were also really good. We had several curries as main courses, all flavorful and very tasty! The food would warrant five stars in our opinion, the service is more along the lines of three. Not rude but rather abrupt, and we had to hold onto our plates to be able to finish our meals, before the waitress whisked them away.
