I liked the crusty bread feta cheese and aubergine, the cake was really nice, Somerset house is a nice place, perfect place to brunch/walk around, I went to visit the neighbouring building, and saw this place for the first time šŸ˜, k bye

Nice terrace and interior and good selection of Spanish and British bites...
Very comfy and friendly staff. And nice views.
Can't beat Prosecco by the glass I have to admit!

if you are looking for a coffee/wine with some delicious simple bite to eat and an amazing setting with fountains this is the perfect place. It is inside the Somerset House and has tables outside. You can enjoy a glass of great wine something to eat and people watch all day long.

A chance encounter. First, the grandeur of Somerset House drew us in off The Strand, and then the pleasing menu of Fernandez and Wells had us braving the chilly evening with a good white and warm chorizo (perhaps not an appropriate combination for purists but very satisfying for us). This experience led to a second visit where more of the menu was explored. All good, especially the morcilla. Too bad we don't live in London as I expect this would end up a regular haunt. Kudos for the stylish fit out, as well as the attention to the food. And very friendly staff who were so obviously proud of their offerings and keen to introduce them to new people.

I am a big fan of Fernandez & Wells, particularly the Lexington St store, selling delicious charcuterie, cheese and sherry (which is my idea of food perfection) so I was super excited to check out their latest outpost in beautiful Somerset House. I actually went over the Christmas break, so the courtyard of Somerset House looked lovely with the giant Christmas tree as well as the ice skating rink in full flow (full skate?). F&W have an amazing space on the left as you walk in from the Strand - with an open space in front that will apparently have tables as the weather gets warmer. The inside is vast and seems to keep going on, room after room - I really like the first room as you walk in, with the main counter. As always the flat whites are great but for me the special thing about these guys is their sandwiches - they have sandwich making down to a fine art - their grilled cheese version is to die for but I could happily eat my way through the entire selection. The only downside is tha

Everything in one place: cafƩ, wide variety of pastries, soups, sandwiches, mains, music. Busy, but lots of seating. I had a chicken and harissa sandwich and a pumpkin soup. The soup was nicely spiced and a generous serving with two slices of bread. I'm definitely not starving anymore. Within the courtyard of Somerset House, very convenient to the Courtauld Gallery. This feels where the locals go. Glad I skipped the movie touristy/fast-foodie places on the street.

This is the coffee ship inside Somerset house. I stopped by to warm up a bit. I had some cured meats and OJ. Met some nice people who are from the area who gave me some tips on things to do after Somerset House.

I'm about to start working as an Ice Marshall at Somerset House's ice rink as I've done for the past 2 years, so I'm fairly familiar with the charming surroundings of the courtyard. That being said, this was the first time I've actually sat down in here, and what a pleasant experience it was. My pal Rosie and I had just finished some staff training upstairs and we had an hour to kill, so we figured we'd grab a drink somewhere. We popped into Fernandez & Wells and were struck immediately by how much we wanted from the menu. All the teas looked nice, the sourdough sandwiches were stuffed with gorgeous looking fillings, and the cakes... Seriously, the cakes looked incredible. But staff training calls for wine, so we ordered an exotic sounding red that I can't pronounce (which I'm told was excellent), and a glass of cava for me that was smooth and glided down with ease. Two drinks cost just over Ā£10, so it wasn't cheap, but like with most things, you get what you pay for.

If the weather is nice enough to sit outside and you happen to be at the Somerset House for an exhibition (which is equally recommendable) or just strolling around Strand: Go to Fernandez & Wells and sit outside in the sun on the beautiful square with some great coffees, sandwiches, Spanish tapas such as chorizo, ham and different cheeses or (of course) a beer. Make sure to be on time but, most likely you will have to stand in line a bit for your order as well as have some patience finding a seat/table outside. However you can also just sit on the pavement. But it's worth it, believe me. Summer Saturday or Sunday lunches are so well spent at the Somerset House with F&W. In wintertime, the place is as good to relax inside with a great coffee and some cupcakes or muffins.

Let me just say, and I mean this sincerely, without any pretense or exaggeration - this is the best iced latte on the goddamn planet. They will craft it by hand, of course, with espresso so sweet you may not even need to add sugar. It's exclaim-out-loud delicious. Sadly, all other coffee is now slightly less appealing.

Wonderful selection of jamon. My chorizo omelette was excellent. Great location next to Courtauld Institute ā€“ what a joy sitting in the spring sunshine outside in the courtyard of Somerset House enjoying artisan coffee. Weā€™re going to try their tapas on our next visit.
