Pierre Marcolini, a Belgian chocolatier, is one of my favourite chocolatiers. I first bought some chocolates from his boutique at St. Honoré, Paris, France when on a chocolate tour. He takes pride in sourcing the best cocoa beans and, more importantly, paying the farmers a fair wage for their labour. You can always find new types of chocolates in his boutique.
This is visually a stunning treat for the eyes before you even get to try the wonderful delights in store. The decor is as though your walking into someone’s beautiful wedding with ivory and pastel shades that give you an immediate sense of calm and meditation. Then there is the extreme excitement of all of the wonderful colored pastries and chocolates the choice is endless and the staff are so professional in taking time to explain the finer points of each item. There is s chance to sample some of the chocolate, and you will soon realize that you are dealing with some of the highest quality of product available in the UK. The cakes are magnificent, I bought a chocolate cherry square that was other worldly with its fresh cherry filling and complex textures, your are eating art. The macaroons are simply delectable, fresh moist dense and cleverly flavored they give you a real sense of the authentic and teach you the difference between meringue and real macaroon craftsmanship. If your in the area you have to stop by to educate your palette, if your not in the area fly in, drive in, boat in what ever it takes you have to experience chocolate as it should be.
Came across this place on accident but was not disappointed. You have to buy their boxes to try everything but so far we have not been left down.
We are eating these alongside the top rated chocolate from Scotland and Germany and these hold their own.
Definitely recommend.
