Cozy, quirky, atmospheric, friendly bar staff/manager, laid back, superb variety of music, and all that from just one visit after all the talent (live music) of the night had left only happened upon this awesome wee pub coz it was open later than 11pm and very close to where we were staying in the Wyvil estate (visiting relatives) this would be my local if I lived down there...alas, I live 450miles away in Irvine Ayrshire...there should be more pubs like this up here.. great wee place. Xx
An excellent local pub. Made my Canadian friends welcome, good food and beer! 🤗
Great bar, the comedy nights here are awesome.
The bar staff are fab, very friendly and helpful as well as entertaining in their own right.
Wicked place!! Awesome food!! Brilliant music venue! Top staff!! Hope to be back in London to play here again!!
The Cav is my second home and I love everyone there :) Best comedy venue anywhere, ever!

The Cavendish Arms is a lovely pub in Stockwell, hidden away in a beautiful and quiet neighbourhood. I really liked the retro decor and the furniture that looked like they came from someone's grandfather's house.
The drinks selection is nothing special but it's all right for a local. They also have something called disco fries that I will have to try next time. Definitely sounds intriguing.
The place is actually quite known amongst young comedians, as they hold open mic comedy nights every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, so it popular with people who want to get on stage for the first time or practice new material and test how it sits with the crowd. In order to perform you need to bring a guest with you, which is a great policy to make sure there's someone to spread the word afterwards and they don't have a room full of comedians playing for each other.
I actually performed some improv comedy with my friends and I have to say it was quite fun being on stage for the first time and the crowd was very supportive. I would recommend paying it a visit if you are in the area and want a laugh. Besides, it's always good to support new talent. You may see the first steps of someone who will be the next big thing.

❤️ One of London’s most uniquely decorated pubs.
.
The Cavendish Arms is located in a residential area in the western part of Stockwell. Nine Elms is the nearest tube and is just over a five minute walk away.
.
This pub’s architecture is typical 1960’s estate pub, this type of pub is ever becoming a rare sight on the London pub landscape these days.
.
This is a two room pub, the left hand side is used as a comedy club, live music and events venue, the right hand side is the main bar.
.
Now on to the decor, if you can imagine if DFS had a showroom in Soho in the 1970’s then I think it might look a bit like this, this place is absolute bananas. There is every different type of sofa, soft furnishing, flowery rug and trinket you can think off all of which are covered in fairy lights. At the front of the pub are a few gazebo’s with yet more sofas to relax in over the warmer months.
.
The beer line up was pretty good which included one real ale and a few craft brews. I decided to go off piste and tried the Freedom Lager, it was a decent pint and pleasingly under six nicker.
.
We arrived not long after opening just after 4pm on a Saturday afternoon. We were the first punters in and to say we were amazed by our surroundings was an understatement. We got chatting to the very welcoming Guv’nor who was telling us all about his pub of which he is very proud of. We popped next door to check out the events area, it is a good size space complete with stage.
.
@thecavendisharmsstockwell is a very unique boozer which is all about having a bit of fun. This place is definitely the case where the collars don’t match the cuffs, the inside and outside of the pub couldn’t be more different. This is definitely a must visit pub just for the decor alone. Check out their socials for upcoming events.

Free comedy night, lots of fun and laughter, creative and delicious cocktails, good and fairly prized pizza and oddly beautiful interior. This sentence tells you all you need to know about The Cavendish Arms. It is certainly worth a visit. It is one of the most unique pubs I've been to.
What a fabulous pub and venue. We went for a comedy night (which was brilliant) and we're totally blown away by the pub. The decor was amazing, inside and out and the staff were super friendly and efficient, we didnt get to try the food, but the pizzas smelled amazing.
Would definitely be a place we would go to on a regular basis if we were local.
First time here, I came to see a friends band make their London debut. It’s a bit tucked away but easy enough to find.
Once in its very pleasant. Staff and locals are very friendly. Beer is ok & reasonably priced for the area. Nicely decorated.
AMAZING NIGHT! Came for the open mic comedy night on a Tuesday at 9pm and it was hilarious! There were 9 comedians and it was very good vibes. We bought a coupon through Groupon so for £8 we got a cocktail, pizza and the comedy entertainment. You can come here just for the comedy and a pint as the entry for the comedy is FREE! You can donate after the show though (£5) which lasts just over an hour.
The vibes are immaculate and the pub is dog themed and dog friendly! There is also a cat that lives in the pub which chills with the guests.
