This is a little jewel - a quirkily-decorated, cosy, intimate and very friendly little cafe whose Egyptian owner goes out of his way to give you excellent service - and food - from his home made cakes to Egyptian specialities. The breakfast is a great antidote to the English breakfast with fava beans instead of baked beans and delicious falafel instead of sausages. And he's just started opening at weekend evenings with a few speciality home-cooked dishes - I tried his Persian chicken stew with buttery rice today and it was lovely. But most of all, it's such a sweet, friendly, local place - and because it's tucked a few minutes away from Dalston Junction, I don't think you should do yourself a disservice by missing it.
Such a friendly and cosy hideaway in Dalston Junction! They serve amazing falafel wraps and super healthy smoothies which blew my mind.
The falafel wrap is to die for … unique and delicious and so filling!!! Normally falafel makes me feel bloated but these guys make it with fava beans, so its gluten and dairy free and it’s freshly made, so it tastes great minus the belly pain! And OMG … I also recommend the banana, cashew nut, date and chai seed smoothie. It’s good to know that eating out can be healthy and nutritious!
Very pleasant friendly & atmospheric small cafe on a quiet residential street-corner, providing Egyptian specialities and more traditional cafe fare such as breakfasts, toasted sandwiches & cakes. Good coffee. Shakshuka and falafel particularly recommended. Does take-away too. Smart but eclectic décor. Also a few outside seats set back from the road. Recently (since July 2014) under new management (previously known as Eggs Milk Butter cafe, from the historic advertising tiles which remain in place). Closed Mondays, I believe will be opening some evenings soon.
