It's like stepping out of London and in to one of the amazing coffee shops in Melbourne.
For any one who hasn't been to Melbourne this is a huge compliment and means a chilled out, good looking coffee place that does really good coffee!
Known for its all-day breakfasts, I was lucky enough to be treated to brunch here by a friend. We went on a Sunday and it was packed. We got the last table and saw others arriving after us waiting at least thirty minutes for a seat.
A quick look at the menu will show you that these guys do breakfast a little differently. Thank God, because, I don't know about you, but I'm sick of seeing the same listings on every breakfast/ brunch menu in town #firstworldproblems.
My friend ordered the Avocado, Cottage Cheese, Lemon and Sea Salt on Toasted Pide (a Turkish flatbread), and I opted for the Treacle-Cured Bacon Sandwich served on Toasted Pide with Tomato Jam, Aioli, Baby Gem, Tomatoes and Avocado. We were both extremely happy with our selections and took our time over them. I would say that the pide is very bready and a little dry, but I dipped what I didn't eat as a sandwich into the ample serving of aioli. The coffee was good too.
The poor staff were a little harassed and utterly rushed on their feet, but they served us in an efficient and timely.
If you do go for breakfast, get there early to avoid disappointment. Having said that, the food really is worth the wait.
We stopped off for brunch on a Saturday morning and go a table outside. There is some seating inside but it was nice to sit and watch the world go by. There was a good range of vegetarian options available for me to choose from. I had the Turkish eggs and polenta chips and boozy milkshake which were all delicious. The staff were friendly and helpful and the place had a nice atmosphere.
