I have to say that this is one of Kingston's true gems. Forget all of the other restaurants and eateries along the Riverside Edge, Le Bun is where it's at.
Firstly, the restaurant itself is quite cosy, with comfortable seating, quirky deco and romantic candles (for evening diners).
The drinks are absolutely amazing. They're served in jam-jars which makes the whole experience slightly speak-easyish and fun. These guys know how to mix a mean margarita (with an orange liqueur twist) as well as a boozy Picante De La Case with good quality tequila.
For me, I have to say the chilli beer was a real find (yes, a chilli inside a bottle of beer) and one worth heading to Le Bun for during Happy Hour where you get two drinks for the price of one.
But let's not beat around the bush here. The true reason to visit Le Bun is for the incredible brioche burgers. If you're serious about your pulled meat, duck confit, beef patties... this is a place you NEED to check out.
MY wife chose the Bourginionne which was a pulled beef sandwich smothered in delicious sauce and cheese. I had the Royale which was the most succulent beef patty (8 hours in the making) with goats cheese, and lots of additional garnishes that made it a burger fit for a king.
Also, you must try the kale which is a really pleasant surprise as an accompaniment to your meal. I could go back just for a portion of kale if needed.
The service is great and the mood is just right for hanging out with people you like in a place where they serve a good selection of authentic drinks with food worth getting your fingers mucky for!
Le Bun, c'est cool!
Had a burger at the polo - was wonderful. Juicy but not greasy, cheese melted perfectly and the truffle mayo was amazing! Too London burger!
Awesome burgers, fries and service at the UW 20 year celebration, Piggyfest, at Kelmarsh Hall.
The guys were still going long after all the other vendors had quit!
Fantastic.
